War changes everything.
Andriy is a believer who, as a social worker, manages a humanitarian aid hub serving families affected by war in Ukraine. For a long time, he believed his role was limited to distributing supplies—food parcels, hygiene kits, and basic necessities. While this support mattered, it didn’t address the deeper needs of children and families living under constant stress and instability.
That belief changed after Andriy completed our partner-led social work training.
After completing the course, Andriy's perspective shifted significantly. He began to understand that social services are not just about material aid—they are about seeing the whole family, recognizing each child’s needs, understanding safety concerns, and offering emotional and psychosocial support. He learned how to assess risk, listen carefully, and respond in ways that protect children while strengthening their families.
Today, Andriy no longer simply hands out aid. He takes time to listen to families’ stories, engages more deeply with parents and children, and collaborates with colleagues on complex cases to make referrals and connect families to additional resources. Because of this shift, families receive support that helps them stay together, and children are less likely to enter crisis or separation.
This is the power of equipping local leaders: when social workers are trained to see beyond immediate needs, they can intervene early, strengthen families, and protect children where they belong—at home. Won't you pray that more people like Andriy would have the opportunity to be equipped like he was? Let's pray that other social workers would become aware of such training, and that the Lord would provide the resources for many more to make this transformation possible — in Ukraine and in other countries!
